Fire safety management

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) came into effect in October 2006 replacing many different pieces of fire safety legislation. Article 9 of the FSO places a duty on the responsible person to carry out a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks from fire and to identify the precautions necessary to comply with the requirements and prohibitions placed on him by or under the FSO.

In simple terms the “responsible person” is either the employer, a person who controls a building or the owner depending on the particular circumstances of the situation.

It can be a daunting task trying to identify exactly what your responsibilities are under such regulations but we have the knowledge and skill to help. Therefore, if you would like some help understanding what your responsibilities are under the FSO or if you would like some help carrying out a fire risk assessment and putting in place all the necessary control measure we can help ensure you remain in compliance and that your personnel remain safe.

Please call us for an informal discussion or to arrange a more formal face to face meeting.
